A little more than three years ago, the Brooklyn-based DIY pop artist Grace Ives released Janky Star, the very cool sophomore LP that she co-produced with Justin Raisen. Since then, Ives has evidently been having a tough time, going through some serious life business. Now, she’s doing better and living in Los Angeles. Today, she comes back from all of it with three new songs that she recorded with Ariel Rechtshaid, a producer who has historically done a lot of great work with artists like Ives.
